PEARL FARM BEACH RESORT : Davao's Private Getaway...

Before it became known as a relaxing private resort that is located at the southern portion of Samal Island, it was once an actual pearl farm. The 11-hectare Pearl Farm Beach Resort was once a pearl farm in 1958, the Aguinaldo Pearl Farm, where thousands of white lipped oysters, transported from the Sulu Sea, were cultivated for their pink, white and gold pearls.

Around 7 am, we waited at the Marina Jetty Wharf located for our boat transfer to the resort. We paid
Php 2,500 / person for whole day tour (much lesser for weekday tour Mon - Thurs). I am kinda excited since I've been born and raised in Davao but its my first time to visit this exclusive resort along with my brother Jansen and his grilfriend Grace, Laarni and Anna - my two friends who are from Manila. The boat leaves at 8am sharp for a one hour boat trip to Pearl Farm Beach Resort.

After we register and took our welcome drinks, we decided to visit first the exclusive and most expensive accommodations, the 7 Malipano Villas in Malipano Island. The island is just across the Pearl Farm Beach Resort and took us less than 5 minutes by speed boat to get there.

Malipano Villas

The place is ideal for family or honeymooners. Our villa has 3 bedrooms and veranda. There is nothing much to do in the island except if you want to scuba dive or play golf. After a couple of hours we go back to the resort.

Time for LUNCH and we are really starving...

A choice of sumptuous Filipino and International Cuisine with fresh seafood and fruits available at Maranao Restaurant.

After our "LAFANG", time for swimming in the beach or in their infinity pool.

You can also roam around the island through their van or their electric golf kart.

relax lang :)
Jump Shot!

Pearl Farm Beach Resort provides activities such as wind surfing, water polo, jet skiing, banana boat rides and scuba diving, sea kayaks, hobie cats and wave runners. You may also try the Ylang-Ylang Spa for wellness effect of your mind and body.

It may burn holes in your pocket but its all worth it if you want privacy, relaxation, peace, quiet and good food.

so HEAT in here!

As we explore some restaurants in Manila, we decided to try The Heat in Edsa Shangri-la in Shaw, Mandaluyong. Frankly, we are not rich but we just want to try some fancy restaurants along the way for experience only hehehehe
For Php 1,200 ++ / person for Lunch Buffet, we have no choice but to go in since we are already at the entrance :)

A lot of cuisines that you can choose and honestly too many to mention. We started around 11 am and the buffet will be closed around 2 pm so we have 3 hours to eat to our heart and stomach's content!
 Got my first plate already....
Anna - the pretty but ever so late gal and ex officemate hehehehe
Laarni - muy gwapita and also my travel buddy

We get our own food and totally I'm lost.... too many to choose from but I can't take it all... Can I take i all out? hehehehe

Our bill for that day... no need to react... we know already hehehehe

And my last picture before we go out....

I recommend this to those people who have a lot of money and don't know where will they spend it. You may contact us also if you want company... the more the merrier d ba? hehehehe I may love ALL the food, the service and the ambiance itself but its too much for my budget so maybe next time if someone will treat me (wink*!).

Mei Dolls Cafe "Cosplay Cafe"

I heard Mei Dolls Cafe when I saw Jessica Soho featuring new cafes in town... Since I'm an Anime Fanatic, It got my attention when I learned about this new and cool cafe and done my research about it.

I called Pauline - my travel buddy and another anime fanatic and we set a date on when to visit the Cafe. I'm not too familiar with Cainta, Rizal but we are so eager to try it and find out what makes it so different to other Cafe.

We got lost in our way to the location of Mei Dolls Cafe and took us almost 30 minutes when we find it. We are a bit hesitant since we never expect it to be too small. But still we sat down and took our orders... hhhmmmm I like their greetings and how they accommodate us in their cute little maid outfit.
me and pauline in their japanese style table... :)
We did try their challenge where you have to eat their own style Ramen in 1 minute but its too hot for our taste.... tsk tsk tsk never got a chance to see all the maids dancing and singing in front of us which is the prize of their challenge.

I may expect too much in their cafe but still we did enjoy the food (not so expensive) and the ambiance of the cafe. But not gonna go back here again since its too far in my place and I so hate the traffic.

Sambokojin Yakinku Smokeless Grill

A new smokeless grill and I tell you its not Yakimix! hehehehe Sambokojin is a new version of Japanese - Korean buffet at Eastwood.

For only Php 595 / head I say it is much better than Yakimix or Tong Yang. Love the ambiance, the food and the staff. Everything are organized and clean :)

Waiters are very much attentive to their guests even for the refill of our Iced Tea drinks. Two thumbs UP!

COOKING TIME! Using the smokeless grilling pot in front of our table :)

with Laarni - my travel buddy & ex officemate
 with Mamita, Laarni and Vanessa
Anna - our photographer :)
Daddy Pao - our driver hehehehe

CHIBUGAN TIME :)

In every restaurants, I always take a picture of my cellphone with my photo on it and also the name of the restaurant... More like a proof that I've tried it :)

All in all, We are very satisfied with Sambokojin and will surely go back again for another feast and laughter. I will surely recommend this to all peeps who loves Japanese and Korean food :)
